Sydney based, saxophonist and educator, Kei Araoka, is a remarkably passionate and dedicated performer and music teacher. Having studied under notable musicians such as Sean Coffin, Julian Gough, Dave Theak and Col Loughnan, the young saxophonist has shared the stage with leading industry professionals namely musical dance group, The Tap Pack, playing at TEDx at the time, an invitation-only event where the world’s leading thinkers gather to present ideas on global issues. In addition Kei has appeared on the Australian television reality music competition X factor, as a performer and boasts credentials as an international performer, playing in America, Mexico, Belize and the Bahamus islands with the Carnival Cruise Line. Furthermore, he has played at many prolific events such as the Manly Jazz Festival and the Merimbula Jazz Festival.
A graduate of the prestigious Conservation of Music, Kei has held several posts as a tutor at several music education providers such as Dural Music and Directions in Music. Kei’s commitment to developing young musicians is highly praised and recognised by many in the industry.
Recent engagements include work with pop musical outfit, Sexy Sunday Jam, working as a session musician for weddings, award ceremonies, recitals, charities, workshops and many others. In the future, Kei aims to produce his own music and hopes to establish his own venture, focusing on students musical development through his teaching strategies, resource and his love for music education.
