DJ ADAM KATZ

A whirlwind of talent, Adam Katz delivers a brilliant fusion of Pop, R&B & Nu- Jazz, where melodic verses are met with clever ‘rapid fire delivery’ (Sydney Morning Herald – Metro Theatre Show) of freestyle raps that captivate and flirt with jaw-dropped spectators. With a repertoire from the Old School hits of Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, to the freshest tracks on the charts, Katz moves seamlessly between Pop, Soul, Jazz, Dance Hits and his favourite, R&B.

Katz has also made his mark in the world of DJ’ing. Whether he is playing a headline set, mashing up an Earth, Wind and Fire vocal over a Calvin Harris instrumental, or spontaneously jumping on the mic and harmonizing with the latest chart hits, Katz’s penchant for improvisation, makes every show feel unique, and every audience member feel a little like they’re part of the performance.

Katz’ grassroots success is evident in his already impressive history on stage. He’s a regular at Sydney hotspots like The Basement, The Beresford and The IVY, and has performed several times at the seminal Splendour in the Grass Festival, as well as headlining the inaugural VANFEST. On the other end of the spectrum, Katz has supported the likes of R&B sensations 112, Lloyd, Akon, Pitbull and Kelly Rowland.

The reason for Katz’ bubbling and enduring success is clear – his engaging live charisma, where he’s just as comfortable holding his own solo as he is fronting a 20-piece band, delivering a smooth pop melody or throwing down an improvised rap or freestyle. Again, the energetic vigor he brings to the table is sincerely different to what we’ve come to expect from a lot of the bland pop that’s dominating the charts.

Katz released his debut single ‘Stars’ through Central Station Records, which achieved national rotation on 2DayFM, Nova and MTV. ‘Stars’ reached #8 on the UK Club Charts. His most recent single, ‘Let Me Love You’ was added to the coveted New Music Friday Spotify playlists in Sweden, Denmark & Netherlands and amassed a 120k streams in its first month. Katz is currently working alongside some of Australia, the US and the UK’s biggest DJ and electronic production talent on several upcoming releases.

In the meantime, he’s extending an invite to come and check out one of his regular Sydney gigs. “If you come and see me perform, I promise to dedicate an entire minute to freestyle about it!”.
