Flip Simmons is an Australian based entertainer, director and vocalist who has worked, since childhood, across all facets of the performing arts with a career spanning across television, film, theatre, dance and always – at the core – music.

Flip is a founding member and frontman of the powerhouse pop outfit Sexy Sunday Jam, 1/4 of the acclaimed vocal collective Reign of Choir and is the creative director of the SSJ Group and it’s subsequent divisions.

He is a flexible vocalist, singing in over 6 languages, across multiple genres, leading him to perform with the likes of Australian artists such as John Farnham, Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Christine Anu, Paulini, Shannon Noll, The Rogue Traders, Barry Crocker & the late Rob Guest and with international artists such as Josh Groban, George Benson, Miranda Sings, Tevin Campbell, Shoshana Bean, Chucho Valdés, Lloyd, Anthony Castelo, Heiji Allejandro, YoYoy and Hanna Villame and many more.

As a session musician and voice & character artist, Flip spends a significant portion of his time in the studio providing his vocal talents for albums, commercials, television programs and local & international stage shows.

Film and Television credits include; the Aria Music Awards, Lantana, The Helpmann Awards, Good Morning Australia, Midday, Mornings, Sunrise, Kerri-Anne, The Footy Show, and Celebrate! Christmas in the Capital, along with number of short films and music videos. In New York in 2001 Flip had castings for the Broadway and American touring companies of RENT for the roles of Angel and Mark, during which, his audition process was broadcast in a television special on the musical on America’s Fox Network.

He was invited to join Australia’s Leading Latin band – MI TIERRA as a singer, dancer and flute player. His work with Mi Tierra toured him to the majority of Australia’s most prestigious festivals and concert events, also working as lyricist and concert choreographer. He has also worked with dynamic performance group ‘The Next Step’ at their sold out shows ‘Live at The Metro’, their ‘Do it on the dance floor’ tour and at such festivals as Splendour in the Grass.

As an event singer, Flip is in high demand. His versatility and range has resulted in invitations to perform at events all over the world; from singing the National Anthem at major sporting events and political conferences, singing power ballads at international beauty pageants, to fronting orchestras & bands for large brand activations and charity events.

Theatrically, Flip has worked extensively with the Canberra Philharmonic, Toured Australia and New Zealand in various musical productions and performed with Opera Australia at the Opera house – Highlights being; You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Grease – The Arena Spectacular, Fiddler On The Roof – alongside the legendary Topol, and touring Australia as Ritchie Valens in ‘BUDDY – The Buddy Holly Story’ celebrating the 50th anniversary of “The day the music died”.

Flip currently has a solo project in the works: The Gospel of Theatre – which is being recorded and set to be released very soon.
